Common faults and solutions of atmosphere muffle furnace

The atmosphere muffle furnace may encounter some common faults during use. Here are some common faults and their solutions:

1. Abnormal temperature
Fault phenomenon:
The furnace temperature is too high or too low to accurately reach the set temperature.
Reason for malfunction:
Thermocouple malfunction: The thermocouple is not properly inserted into the furnace, or the scale marks of the thermocouple and the temperature control instrument are inconsistent, or there is an open circuit or poor contact inside the thermocouple.
Solid state relay damage: Solid state relays are responsible for controlling the on/off of heating elements. If damaged or the control wiring is poorly connected, it will affect the heating power.
Furnace wire circuit breaker: The furnace wire is a heating element, and if the circuit breaker or load power is insufficient, it will cause insufficient heating.
resolvent:
Check if the thermocouple is correctly inserted into the furnace and confirm that the scale marks of the thermocouple and the temperature control instrument are consistent. If the thermocouple is damaged, a new thermocouple should be replaced.
Use a multimeter to check the input and output voltage and resistance values of the solid-state relay to determine if the relay is damaged. If the solid-state relay is damaged, it should be replaced with a new one.
Check if the furnace wire is broken or if the load power is insufficient. The resistance of the furnace wire can be tested with an instrument, which is normally around 10 to 15 ohms. If the furnace wire breaks, a new furnace wire should be replaced.

2. The stove is not heating up
Fault phenomenon:
The stove cannot heat up.
Reason for malfunction:
Fuse breakdown: Fuses are used to protect circuits from the effects of overload and short circuits.
Heating element malfunction: The heating element (such as SiC or MoSi ₂) is damaged.
Power supply failure: The power supply voltage is too low or the socket and control switch have poor contact.
resolvent:
Turn off the power, open the control cabinet, and check if the fuse is blown. If the fuse is blown, it should be replaced with a new one.
Cut off the power, open the top cover, take out an electrode connection, and use a multimeter (buzzer) to test the cooling end of each heater (SiC or MoSi ₂). If there is no sound, it indicates that the heater is broken and should be replaced with a new one.
Check if the voltage of the power supply is normal, and if the socket and control switch are in good contact. If there are any problems, they should be adjusted or replaced in a timely manner.

3. Communication interruption
Fault phenomenon:
The communication between the controller and the display is interrupted, making it impossible to accurately read the furnace temperature or set the heating program.
Reason for malfunction:
The serial port connection is not properly connected or the internal open circuit is damaged.
The internal circuit or software of the controller has malfunctioned.
resolvent:
Check if the external line interfaces of the controller (such as the nine pin serial port, aviation plug, etc.) have come loose or have poor contact to ensure reliable connection.
Try unplugging and unplugging the interfaces at both ends of the monitor cable to check for aging or poor contact. If the problem persists, it may be an internal circuit fault in the monitor or controller, and the manufacturer needs to be contacted for repair or replacement.

4. Other common faults and solutions
Abnormal atmosphere inside the furnace:
Reason for malfunction: Gas pipeline leakage, improper gas flow control.
Solution: Check if the gas pipeline is leaking and adjust the gas flow rate to an appropriate range.
Slow heating rate of furnace:
Reason for malfunction: Aging of furnace wire and unstable power supply voltage.
Solution: Replace the furnace wire with a new one to ensure stable power supply voltage.
Abnormal furnace display:
Reason for malfunction: Controller malfunction, display malfunction.
Solution: Check if the controller and display are working properly. If there is a malfunction, contact the manufacturer for repair or replacement.

When using an atmosphere muffle furnace, do not panic when encountering a malfunction. You should first preliminarily determine the cause of the malfunction based on the symptoms, and then take corresponding solutions. If the problem is complex or cannot be solved by oneself, the manufacturer or professional maintenance personnel should be contacted in a timely manner for handling. At the same time, regular maintenance of the atmosphere muffle furnace can extend the service life of the equipment and reduce the possibility of malfunctions.
