What are the types of vacuum pumps for vacuum sintering furnaces?

Time:2024-11-20 Click:0

There are various types of vacuum pumps used in vacuum sintering furnaces, which can be mainly divided into the following categories based on their working principles and structural characteristics:

1. Mechanical pump
Common types include rotary vane pumps, reciprocating pumps, slide valve pumps, Roots pumps, etc.
Working principle: Gas is extracted from the sintering furnace through mechanical motion (such as rotating blades, reciprocating pistons, etc.) to generate a suction effect.
Features: Mechanical pumps are commonly used for vacuum extraction in the medium pressure range, with advantages such as simple structure and easy maintenance. However, it should be noted that mechanical pumps may not be suitable for certain corrosive or viscous gases.

2. Molecular pump
Working principle: Utilizing the molecular flow effect generated by the high-speed rotating rotor, gas molecules are extracted from the sintering furnace.
Features: Molecular pumps are suitable for high and ultra-high vacuum environments and can achieve extremely low vacuum levels. At the same time, molecular pumps have low sensitivity to gas types and temperatures, and have high stability and reliability.

3. Diffusion pump
Working principle: By heating, the liquid (such as mercury) inside the pump evaporates, forming a steam flow, and then using the steam flow to drive gas flow, the gas is extracted from the sintering furnace.
Characteristics: Diffusion pumps are mainly used in high vacuum fields and can achieve extremely high vacuum levels. However, it should be noted that diffusion pumps require preheating time and have a relatively low pumping rate. In addition, due to the use of liquid as the working medium, diffusion pumps require special attention to safety issues during maintenance and use.

4. Other types
Dry screw vacuum pump: an oil-free vacuum pump that compresses and exhausts gas by rotating two interlocking screws inside the pump chamber. It has the advantages of no oil pollution, low noise, and small vibration.
Oil free vortex vacuum pump: composed of two asymmetric vortex disks, which achieve gas suction, compression, and discharge through the rotation of the vortex disks. It has the advantages of environmental protection, high efficiency, and low noise.

In summary, there are various types of vacuum pumps used in vacuum sintering furnaces, each with its own unique working principles and characteristics. When choosing a vacuum pump, it is necessary to comprehensively consider factors such as its type, performance, and price based on specific application requirements and working environment. Meanwhile, it is also necessary to pay attention to the maintenance and upkeep of the vacuum pump to ensure its long-term stable operation.
