The daily maintenance of the atmosphere tube furnace is crucial for maintaining its good operating condition, extending its service life, and ensuring the accuracy of experimental results. Here are some key maintenance points:
1. Oven and cooling
Oven drying: When the atmosphere tube furnace is first used or used again after a long period of disuse, oven drying treatment must be carried out. The baking time is generally about 2 hours, and the temperature needs to reach around 200 degrees Celsius to ensure that the moisture and impurities in the furnace are fully evaporated and removed. After the oven is finished, the furnace should be allowed to cool naturally to avoid rapid cooling that may cause cracking of the furnace.
Cooling: During the use of the furnace, sudden power off or significant cooling should be avoided to prevent thermal stress from causing damage to the furnace and furnace tubes. After the experiment, the furnace should be allowed to cool naturally to room temperature.
2. Cleaning and maintenance
Maintain cleanliness: Regularly keep the furnace and furnace tubes clean, and promptly clean impurities such as oxides and experimental residues inside the furnace. This helps to improve heating efficiency, reduce heat loss, and prevent impurities from corroding the furnace and furnace tubes.
Check the sealing: For tube furnaces that can be evacuated and ventilated, the sealing of the furnace door should be regularly checked. Poor sealing can lead to gas leakage, affecting the accuracy of experimental results.
Tighten screws: Regularly check and tighten the screws of various parts of the furnace body, especially the connection between the furnace door and gas pipeline, to prevent gas leakage or deformation of the furnace body due to looseness.
3. Gas management
Check gas purity: Before conducting experiments using an atmosphere tube furnace, it is necessary to check whether the purity of the required atmosphere gas meets the experimental requirements. The use of inferior gases may affect the experimental results and even cause corrosion to the furnace and furnace tubes.
Correct operation: During the inflation or vacuuming process, the correct operation should be carried out according to the operating procedures. Avoid suddenly turning on the vacuum pump or introducing a large amount of gas when the furnace body is at high temperature, in order to prevent thermal stress from causing the furnace tube to explode.
4. Temperature control
Reasonable temperature setting: When setting the temperature inside the furnace, it should be set reasonably according to the experimental requirements to avoid setting the temperature too high or too low, which may have adverse effects on the experiment.
Observing temperature changes: During the heating process, the temperature inside the furnace should be closely monitored, and any abnormalities should be adjusted in a timely manner. During the constant temperature stage, the temperature should be kept stable to avoid excessive temperature fluctuations that could affect the experimental results.
5. Other precautions
Avoid vibration: During use, avoid subjecting the atmosphere tube furnace to significant vibrations or impacts to prevent damage to the furnace chamber and tubes.
Regular maintenance: Regularly maintain and upkeep the atmosphere tube furnace, check whether the furnace body, power supply, gas pipeline, etc. are normal. If any damage or malfunction is found in the equipment, professional personnel should be contacted promptly for repair.
Safe operation: Operators should be familiar with the operating procedures and safety requirements of the atmosphere tube furnace, and wear protective equipment. During the operation, pay attention to observing the running status of the equipment, and if there are any abnormal phenomena, stop the machine for inspection in a timely manner.
By implementing the above daily maintenance measures, the service life of the atmosphere tube furnace can be effectively extended, and the accuracy and reliability of experimental results can be improved.
